Our customers eagerly await traditional seasonal dishes each year, made from local produce, like our chestnut soup, tomato sandwiches, our fig tartes, blackberry pies, or our Chilton County peach pies. We make our pizza crusts from Good People spent grain, our lasagna from McEwan and Sons beef, and serve Alabama goat cheese on our pizzas, salads and cheese plate. And the best part is that none of this is new for us. We've always sought out local produce. I remember 15 years ago sending an employee halfway to Atlanta to pick up fresh Alabama butter, Or the many years that we offered a free baguette to customers in exchange for a fistful of fresh basil for our summer pesto, or for a bucket of figs for our fig and goat cheese tarts. And of course, we've always served the best local bread in the southeast, from the bakery next door!
